    @erinhengel @brett_matsumoto @leah_boustan I would add that there is a wide range of public transit technologies that can handle various level of traffic. It’s possible to run efficient PT in less dense areas (like BRT).

      @erinhengel @brett_matsumoto @leah_boustan In the long run, having a strong PT line also attract housing and activities. The city reorganize itself alongside the line. So it’s not only a matter of the current demand, it’s also a matter of bending the future demand toward a more transit oriented one.

Even though things are far from perfect, European politicians are more willing to put money and effort in such "bets". Probably because PT is more used here, so voters can see the point of having PT…)
