    @MaksymPolyakov @ben_golub Public transit was nearly nonexistent in LA metro 30 years ago: no subway, no LRT, no BRT. Going to almost 0% to 6% in 30 years in a 16 millions inhabitants city is quite impressive to me – and the future lines and extensions look promising.

      @MaksymPolyakov @ben_golub So far, what prevents the current system to have higher ridership is probably its size: too small, not covering enough of the city so it lacks network externalities. But LA built 105 miles of rail in 30 years, and plan to roughly double this number in the next 15-20 years.
