      1. I have three remarks: 1. When you brand yourself as an ally, people have expectations 2. @Equinox response is pure BS and they deserve the additional backlash 3. I wonder how much this sort of event actually damages a company. Any reference on this? mashable.com/article/equinox-soulcycle-backlash/?europe=true&yptr=yahoo

Some suggest the boycott won’t work, arguing it’s not "organized". But I disagree: they branded themselves as allies of the LGBTQ community. Who is organized. It’s much more than just two celebrities asking for a boycott. yahoo.com/lifestyle/why-equinox-soul-cycle-boycotts-in-response-to-trump-fundraiser-likely-wont-work-say-experts-100000201.html

I’m not saying it will actually damage Equinox. I don’t know. But clearly, it’s a brand whose a significant part of the customer base is LGBTQ or allies. It’s not Chick-Fill-A where everyone can go.

Also (in light with the paper I’m currently working on), this could also deprives Equinox of its workers, and turned new ones off. It’s not just some "neutral" company suddenly doing shit. It’s a company that politicized itself.
