      @causalinf The more I learn about the US econ community, the more it surprises me. For instance there is no French equivalent of the NBER. US econ seems much more hierarchical than in France. It is not in itself a criticism, it is just something I never realised.

    @causalinf (On the meantime, almost all French university professors are public servants with lifetime jobs – there is no in between, no tenure track. The salaries are also fixed on a scale that is a common knowledge. I guess it creates different power dynamics.)
