@priyavshan I agree with you, even though I'm not sure what a "concrete proof" that there will be improvement would look like. But aspiring RAs or PhD students have to be made aware that this discussion is taking place in economics – but with the NYT story and everything, it's now public.

@priyavshan Because the reason why the discussion is taking place is because there is a problem in the first place. But as Jennifer pointed out, it's not clear that things are much better in other industries or places. At least there are reasons to be hopeful with academic econ!Permalink
