    1. I am thrilled to announce that after the defense of my PhD at the end of the year, I will not seek a job in academia. I gave a lot of thoughts about this, but I came to the conclusion that the chances are too low for me to be happy in academia.

    I want to be able to choose the place where I live. I want a decent pay. I don’t want to spend my time dealing with double binds. I don’t want to fight for virtually every part of my job - getting a job, getting funding, getting published...

      In a nutshell, I see the constraints faced by present-days scientists way too hard to deal with, at least for me. I don’t think academia is a good fit for me, and the contrary is probably true too - at least in France.

        Doing science is cool, but there are many other cool things to do out there. I already have some ideas. I am incredibly excited to see what will come next! But in the meantime, I still have a thesis to write. Back to work!
