          @ben_golub Here’s some data (for my French speaking account) that goes in a similar direction than your prediction: I track my followers number since 2019, and I’ve *never* seen a downward slope like these If it wasn’t for a bunch of viral tweets, I would have lost followers

        @ben_golub Circa 2020, this account stay silent for more than a year Even then, I didn’t lose followers. The curve basically stayed flat.

      @ben_golub The downward trend started at the end of October last year I can also track what happens to the accounts who unfollow me. A significant share is *people deleting their account*. Other accounts with a sociologically similar audience than mine have similar trends

    @ben_golub It’s only a snapshot of one particular community (basically, the French-speaking skeptical community), but if multiple communities unravel like this, what’s left on Twitter will be weakened
