Religious fundamentalists are not necessarily better organized or intrinsically more powerful in the US than in France They’re more likely benefiting from weak institutions they learned to maneuver perfectly

Which in turn asks the question of how much of a democracy the US republic actually is

And also because French institutions make much harder to overturn such precedents (gay mariage, abortion, ban of the death penalty, etc.) it doesn’t fuel the fundamentalists politically speaking Unless you’re an extremist why join a cause that has ~0 chance to win?
