    1. I completely disagree that European leaders are currently failing Unless you want a literal nuclear war with Russia, military intervention in Ukraine is not an option Based on this constraint, they’re currently following a maximalist approach against Russia

    Sure, some countries are reluctant to do this and that. But hey, it’s 27 countries and every single one of them has veto power. It’s already king of a miracle that were even able to reach any decision in the first place!

      Plus, don’t get distracted by the news *during* negotiations Those negotiations are always super messy, with a lot of drama and posturing (which is kind of expected during negotiations) Trust the process, only judge the end result

        I do agree that some European leaders has failed, but they’re not in charge anymore Merkel and Sarkozy in particular bear an immense responsibility. They tried to appease Putin and ended unilaterally disarming us. History won’t be keen on them

          Macron, but also Scholz (probably pushed by Baerbock) and others are rising to the challenge We’re finally addressing the threat for what it is Now the goal is to inflict maximum damage to Putin’s regime in the middle run. And I think they’re doing it correctly.
