  1. I am disgusted by Putin’s attack on Ukraine and its people This is a stark reminder of the reasons why our elders built the EU in the first place: to have safeguards against a dictator a bit too keen to invade his neighbors #StandWithUkraine

Let me also have a few words of utmost contempt for the so-called "patriots" on the right and "anti-imperialists" on the left – who all sided with Putin They’re neither patriots or anti-imperialists. They’re puppets of a tyran.

The EU, NATO and our allies must now punish Putin’s regime as strongly as possible It’s our responsibility to make this war massively costly for him and for his cronies

I’ve had this feeling of "cold anger" (as we say in French) brewing for a few days now Cold anger directed at anyone who sided with Putin, who doesn’t respect democracy and its institutions, who fuels violence on the public discourse

Democracy is under attack. From the outside in Ukraine, and from the inside in many other places. I have the intuition this anger is here to stay. And I’m fine with that. I’m being radicalized as even more pro-democracy as I ever was

I also have the intuition that within the EU, Western countries will now listen more carefully to Eastern countries who kept repeating us that the main threat is Russia What’s happening today clearly shows they were right and that we should’ve listen

Also the EU needs its own army
