    For the transit nerds around, this is what the track looks like The rail only serves to guide the vehicles, that are legally speaking buses The wires are the same as for trolleybuses

      Here’s the vehicle itself It’s 25m long (road vehicles can’t be longer in France) and it can run *without* the rail – which only exists on 60% of the line On the remaining 60% it’s basically a (very decent imo) trolleybus

        Picture isn’t super clear but it’s an instance where a vehicle isn’t using the guide rail (And it also uses its auxiliary Diesel-electric engine)

          (It was probably during either an incident or during construction work. It’s not a normal operational mode to use the Diesel generator.)
