    @SamInLowerCase @elben I’m not sure it’s the origin. Sure, there’s hubris among some of us, but I’m really not sure most of economists see themselves on top of any kind of hierarchy. They’re just there trying to do things they enjoy.

      @SamInLowerCase @elben And Ben’s right that a non-marginal share of the criticism is just plainly false But regardless of the actual need of economists to reflect on their shortcomings, mischaracterizing their field will probably just kill the credibility of the whole criticism
