      1. My take on "should we read the classics": It’s probably a waste of time BUT We should teach HET at a much, much larger scale than what we do today In other words: you can probably expose the students to the classics without requiring them to read them

      I tried to read Keynes and Smith when I was an undergrad. The only thing I remember was that I understood very little of what I was reading (I’m not claiming I understand more of what I read today though 👀)

    My overall point is probably that we need to have on average a better knowledge of econ’s history among the profession, but I’m skeptical that reading classics is the most efficient way to achieve this goal A regular HET class seems a better option imo
