    @s_delhommer It was not one sub but 12, for close to 60 billions $ The reason why France is so pissed is not really because of the contract itself but because Australia and the US hid the fact they were negotiating for months France only learned the new deal one hour before it was announced

      @s_delhommer On top of the contract was also a military and diplomatic partnership between France and Australia, and this partnership is now completely dead

        @s_delhommer Macron is also very europhile and this shitshow is the *perfect* opportunity for him to push for a stronger European defense (something where Europeans are divided) He will milk this breach of partnership as much as he can to argue in favor of an European defense

          @s_delhommer I haven’t talked much about it with my friends and other people but to me, I do agree with Macron that this is a major breach of partnership between "allies" You don’t negotiate a deal behind one ally’s back with another ally without consequences
