  1. Shared trauma aside, I use Texpad (texpad.com/) It has a live compilation feature (if you use their TeX distro) and it’s honestly super handy to detect issues on the fly It doesn’t solve the bad error messages, but it simplifies the debugging *a lot* @ben_golub/1430563074948452361

      Apparently they have a Windows version in beta. I’ve been using it on macOS for almost ten years and honestly it drastically changed my experience with LaTeX.

        Their own distro is pretty good overall, and it has one unexpected benefit of keeping my files "simple" (in terms of packages) It can also download packages on the fly, so it’s also more storage efficient
