@elben I’d say it’s probably even worse because Tumblr wasn’t profitable and trying to turn their platform into something more "ad friendly" made a bit of sense OF is already profitable for what I’ve read, and they’re making a ton of money *from the people they’re banning*

@elben I have some sympathy for Tumblr in the sense that an ad based revenue stream is actually really hard to make work and in 2018 subscriptions were just started. But OF cracked the code and decided to throw it by the window? Why?

@elben If I were an OF’s competitor I’d open a bottle of champagne honestly, OF quite literally transferred to them a significant share of its revenues for nothing in exchange

@elben And I don’t get the "we’ll go with musicians": what’s the difference with Patreon then? Porn was a lucrative niche and they decided to ditch it to go after the dominant player on the market? Once again: why?
