@elben I understand the struggle, and I’m not saying it’s easy – nor a matter of personal behavior. It’s rather a really suboptimal equilibrium I’d say. The real question being imo why so many econ departments teach Stata instead of R (or maybe both?)

@elben I also recognise moving from Stata to R can be quite costly, at a personal as well as an institutional level But it shouldn’t deter the profession to have this conversation – and to move in the right direction (which is maybe the case thanks to younger generations)Permalink
