        After my last relationship almost six years ago, I decided to focus on myself and stay away from dating. I’ve been single since, and honestly it has been the best five years of my life.

      I know correlation ≠ causation, but the amount of time and energy I would have "lost" in any relationship would have hampered my work on myself Instead, I used this energy to basically rebuilt myself, and as of today I don’t even see the point of being in a relationship anymore

    I’m not judging anyone of course. Do what’s best for you! But I’m living a very fulfilling life - while being single! And I don’t feel *any* sense of "loss" or emptiness. Just a bit of social pressure from time to time. But I’m VERY resistant to social pressure 😬

      (And btw, the social pressure in question is *not* code for my mom - quite the contrary actually! She normalized being single to my sister and I since almost day one. As did my aunt and my grandmother!)
