@intothemild @KrisSiegel @PlayStation Very interesting, thanks! I had in mind that mostly everything would stop for the upcoming future. For Basecamp it’s probably not that of a thread because the product is, let’s say, stable… But for Hey, I think it’s a much bigger issue.

@intothemild @KrisSiegel @PlayStation They sold it on a "more features are coming soon" stance and if the flow of new features suddenly stop, customers won’t be happy Plus all the potential customers they won’t get (I was considering a Hey subscription now they have custom domains, I’m not anymore)

@intothemild @KrisSiegel @PlayStation My current intuition is that either they collapse very soon (we shouldn’t underestimate the cash flow issue that may arise with so many people taking the severance package), or they either manage to survive but Basecamp would basically become a "zombie" company

@intothemild @KrisSiegel @PlayStation No product updates for a while, bad customer service, and the inflow of new users will probably severely decrease because 1) well, all of this was made in public and they probably damaged their image among their base of potential customers

@intothemild @KrisSiegel @PlayStation 2) most importantly I think, some tech "influencers" who were instrumental in their success (especially for Hey) publicly voiced their support for the employees. They won’t promote BC’s products anymore, and considering BC don’t do advertising, it’s a major channel that is gone
