          @hipavel I’m really not sure the company as a whole can survive this I’m not saying it’s gonna suddenly die, but they damaged (imo, beyond repair) their image and probably destroyed also their internal culture

        @hipavel Basecamp built its business based on their image as a different (and somehow, "better") company This image does not exist anymore in a large portion of the people who believed it (like me) and was their client base (I was considering a Hey subscription)

      @hipavel Internally, they destroyed a ton of norms and expectations and some of them were probably instrumental in how Basecamp operates

    @hipavel They need to basically rebuild 1) their brand 2) their entire company Will they succeed doing so? I don’t know and I don’t care. What I do care about his their employees, and I hope they’ll find a better employer ASAP. Their well-being was the only thing that mattered.

      @hipavel It’s not really related to Basecamp itself but I do think that DHH and Fried also destroyed their image of thoughtful managers – and this is something they deserved and that I’m glad about
