      I wouldn’t be surprised if the reason why so many PhD students have such poor mental health is because of expectations of this sort (And I wouldn’t be surprised if a substantial share of faculties also have poor mental health)

        I remember how many times I shocked my peers (grad students and sometimes faculties too) when I told them I intended to use my holidays not to work **at all** I really don’t understand why academia *has* to be like this
