@nickchk Platforms like Patreon attract only a super tiny fraction of a YT channel/blog/whatever community. Among French scientific content creators, the convention rate is somewhere between 0.1-0.5%. My guess is Patreon is entirely based on the very small fraction of users…Permalink

@nickchk …who are both altruistic and do not have any strong budget constraint Considering the massive audiences creators can have, even such a small fraction can be enough to generate a sustainable revenue (from Patreon’s POV I mean)
