@KevinMalogna We were not 57 contestants! It is called a scrutin de liste (list vote? List ballot?), we were required to be 57 people on each list (bc there is 57 seats in the city council). And depending on the number of vote each list get, a larger number do get elected in the council.Permalink

@KevinMalogna With 55% of the vote, the first 43 people in our list got elected (I was 55th so not elected), and the remaining seats were given to the competing list I think we were like 7 lists in total competing during the first round, and only two in the runoff
