        @sterndavidi Let me disagree David. If I may, I think you are being way too charitable here. Especially considering this guy has probably been living in the US long enough to understand the difference in humor. Plus don’t forget his blog post where he compared BLM to the KKK. It’s a pattern.

      @sterndavidi His tone was problematic, but imho the deeper problem was how he considered a view that wasn’t his, on an area he has no expertise about. Calling for "adults" to reform the police somewhat implies a large proportion of Black Americans are not adults.

    @sterndavidi I don’t want to do a straw men here but in American history, for way too long Black people were not considered as adults. So even if one buys the "German-US cultural difference" idea, he still has way too much to learn about race in the US to hold such a gatekeeping position.

      @sterndavidi A proper apology would have been something of the sort "I’m sorry, I was ignorant and I’ll do better in the future, I’ll educate myself on racism and policing in the US and listen more". Maybe a donation. But "I’m sorry I offended you" is not enough.
