Something I learned during my PhD: how to handle when I’m stuck on a problem At first I relentlessly kept trying Now, when I’m stuck I acknowledge it, and I do something else. The solution usually pops up the next day – it just happened again today! And I’m less stressed

The problem when I kept trying was that I put a lot of effort to find a solution when what I needed was just extra time It was a waste of my time and my energy (including my mental energy) Spending time to understand how I work and how to leverage that gives huge returns

First because I’m less stressed, second because I do find solutions, and third because I think I find overall *much better* solutions
