      1. An interesting takeaway from my first day at the #ASSA2020 is how different the populations of European and N American economists are It’s just a (strong) intuition though, I have no proofs or anything But the more I attend econ events in the US, the more this intuition grows

      If my observation is correct, why would it be the case? Self-selection? Euro and NA econ are two different animals that attract different researchers? Something related to the US society in general?
