      1. On top of everything that was said today about the #NobelPrize2019 in economics, my two cents: RCTs are the most significant methodology in economics that relies on pre-registrations Pre-regs are a great tool to mitigate publication bias We should definitely use pre-regs more!

      If you’re not familiar with what a pre-reg is: you publish ex ante your protocol, *before* you run the experiment This way, if you find a null effect (aka you find nothing), you can still publish your paper It avoids the file drawer effect (null effects are never published)…

      Imo, everything susceptibles to reduce the publication bias and improve the reproducibility and transparency of economics should be advocate for A more reproductible science is also a more reliable, and ultimately a stronger, science!

        I don’t know much about RCTs, but I know a little more about reproducibility (thanks to @UCBITSS). Those were a couple of thoughts I wanted to share tonight!
