      And as always, I’m not lashing out at people at top institutions. They worked hard and are talented, and if they do truly pathbreaking research, they should be rewarded for that.

    What I’m criticizing is our collective tendency to pay too much attention to what comes from top institutions, and to forget everything that originates from lesser-known places. We lose something, as a field, by doing so. And that’s why we need to do better.
