    @dclingi One of my friend is currently on the (French) job market. We chat a lot about it these days, and one of the common "theme" in our chats is the distortion between what an academic job actually is, and what people believe an academic job is.

      @dclingi I honestly think that an academic job is a great thing. But I wonder how much this distortion explains the discontent (to say the least…) many people experience when they finally land some sort of academic job.
