@JKcrime_is_econ @jenniferdoleac I also agree, but with one slight dose of caution: economics is too much focused on institutional affiliations and prestige, instead of actual ideas and merits. I'm all for relying on respected thinkers, we just should be aware of how we define "respected" to avoid biases.Permalink

@JKcrime_is_econ @jenniferdoleac I'm not saying people in top institutions or currently having prestige do not deserve all of this. I just want to be thoughtful not to dismiss people from lesser know institutions, because prestige is not a linear function of talent nor merits.
