If you really have a point, you will talk about it with the presenter. But in my experience, listening before interrupting eliminates 95% of my comments, because they were dumb or answered two slides later. In other words, listening seems a legit noise filtering device.

(And for what I’ve noticed, people who interrupt a lot do make a lot of dumb comments. Once again: how does doing this favor "intellectual rigor"?)
