@DinaPomeranz You’re absolutely right. It’s too extreme to state things like that. Let’s say I handle frustration really badly, and I still have a long road to travel on this. What I wanted to express was that contributing to econ can take many different forms. Not just top 5 publications.

@DinaPomeranz That being said, a significant part of this subsection of econ has power, and can make decisions that have an actual impact of the field. I completely understand people who derive intrinsic motivation from their work – I’m happy for them! But that’s not enough.Permalink
