          @evelyn_a_smith If I may on (2): when a student struggles with math, acknowledge the difficulty but don’t make a big deal of it, and try to work with them to solve the issue! Math-phobia is usually driven by some kind of lack of confidence (we have tons of students like that in France...).

        @evelyn_a_smith To my experience, students usually know how to solve the problem, but they don’t think they can - and too often, they don’t even try! Making them try again and again is probably what you should aim for - at least, that’s what I tried to do when I taught!

      @evelyn_a_smith (Full disclaimer though: I’ve never been implemented that in the classroom. The year I wanted to, I’ve had two groups of Licence 3 in game theory. One was really confident, almost arrogant, so it wasn’t an issue.

    @evelyn_a_smith The other one needed help, but when you face 50 students with 40 of them who need your help after *years* of math-phobia, there’s unfortunately very little you can do. So take my « advices » with a grain of salt!)
